Bass Studio at Ball State University has a history of providing
undergraduate and graduate students of the double bass a comprehensive
education encompassing the broadest range of techniques and styles.
Students are given ample performance opportunities from orchestra
to chamber music, large jazz ensembles to combos, operas to musicals,
and early music to electronic works. Weekly masterclasses and recital
hours sharpen solo skills and the great variety of annual guest
artists insure exposure to diverse perspectives. With a continuing
commitment to expanding the horizons of the instrument, the Bass
Studio at Ball State University remains at the forefront of the
double bass renaissance.
